The Likeability Guy

What is Likeability?

Likeability is basically a measure of how favorably you are viewed through the eyes of another person. It is also one of the most overlooked factors of being successful and happy.

Have you ever been passed over for a job or not received the pay raise that you thought you deserved? Maybe you were angling for a particular assignment at work, but you were passed over for someone else less qualified.

The determining factor in almost all instances of making decisions can be boiled down to one simple word. Likeability. People want to hire other people they like, managers want to reward employees that they like, friends like to give tickets they cannot use to people that they like. Every situation that involves a choice of selected one individual over another, will be determined by Likeability.

We have all been in situations where we have had terrible service and at least considered taking our business someplace else.

People do business with people that they like. This is simply a case of human nature, we all do it. Increasing your Likeability factor will improve your life in almost every facet.

The best news is that likeability can be learned, basically it is the ability to be in control of yourself from your thoughts and your actions in different situations and encounters throughout day-to-day life.

The easiest and most readily available technique to help yourself be more Likeable is this.

SMILE MORE!!

Have you ever worked with one of those people that just always seems to have a scowl tattooed on their face? A person that no matter what is happening around them, they just look miserable.

They don’t seem very approachable do they? I mean seriously, would you ever consider approaching the “mean scowl guy” for a problem? I would be willing to bet that they have been stuck in the same job, doing the same meaningless task day after day after day with no satisfaction. They probably have received the minimum salary increase each year out of obligation rather then anything else.

Is this you? Do you want to end up like this?

Heck No!!

A nice friendly smile serves many benefits to both you and others around you. Here are the Top 4 benefits of smiling:

1) It makes you feel better.

2) It relaxes others around you, creating a more approachable and comfortable feel. You are perceived as more friendly.

3) It gives off a great vibe that says, “I’m happy to be here, I’m confidant, and I love my job”.

4) Emotions are contagious. It you smile, so will somebody else.

I can go on and on listing reasons to smile, but basically most benefits can fall into of these four categories.
